Moisture Retention, Water Absorption
- PP (polypropylene) weed control fabric. PP is a thermoplastic resin with good heat resistance, chemical resistance and mechanical strength. PP weed control fabric is woven from PP flat yarn, which can effectively block sunlight and inhibit weed growth. PP weed control fabric has poor air permeability and water permeability, which is not conducive to soil microbial activity and easily leads to soil compaction. PP weed control fabric also has weak aging resistance and flexibility, and can only be used for 3-5 years.
PE (polyethylene) weed control fabric. PE is a widely used synthetic resin with excellent impact resistance, low temperature resistance and flexibility. PE weed control fabric is woven from PE flat yarn, which can also effectively block sunlight and inhibit weed growth. PE weed control fabric has good air permeability and water permeability, which is conducive to soil microbial activity and improves soil structure. PE weed control fabric also has good aging resistance and flexibility, and can be used for 5 years or longer.
In summary, both PP and PE weed control fabric materials can breathe and retain moisture, but PE weed control fabric has a better effect. This is because the flat yarn structure of PE weed control fabric allows water and air to penetrate into the soil smoothly, maintaining a certain soil humidity and ventilation. While the flat yarn structure of PP weed control fabric is relatively tight, making it difficult for water and air to pass through, resulting in soil dryness and hypoxia.
